I know, it feels like forever since I last posted!
So I have quite a few things to catch you up on, but not nearly enough photos :( I still haven't got my head around taking lots of photos for the blog. I keep on forgetting, but hopefully I will get used to it.
Last week I was talking about getting motivated for exercise. Well I am ashamed to say, that because of certain circumstances and lack of motivation, it has been a week and a half since I have been to the gym!! Tonight, I am making a concerted effort to get to the gym for Freestyle Step and Pilates. Monday nights are my favourite night at the gym. I have also been doing a little bit of reading about beginner running. I would really like to be able to enjoy running. A program that I thought I might have a go at is the Couch to 5km program, which slowly increases your fitness over a 9 week period, so at the end you should be able to run 5km without walking. So that is where I would like to be able to get to.
The other thing that I would really like to do is get up earlier in the mornings. I am not a very good morning person and I always end up going to bed really late. I read an old post at Oh She Glows about changing your habits and slowly getting up earlier each day. I think I need to give that a go as well, but it will be difficult for me to get to bed earlier. Blair would also benefit from going to bed earlier as he is currently a bit of a night owl.
No Shampoo Update - Well, my no shampoo challenge was going ok for a few days, then I decided to have a home pampering session and hair disaster struck!! I did a homemade scrub, mask and eye mask, and also did a hair oil treatment.
(It looked a bit like zombie skin and Blair kept on pointing at me saying "Face! Face!")
When I tried to wash out the oil from my hair, it would not budge!! After trying to get it out without using regular shampoo, I ran out of time and ended up using corn flour on my dry hair to soak up the oil. Corn flour can be used as a dry shampoo, which I have done before, but I needed a huge amount to soak so much oil up! Apparently Rani (my sister) saw that I had a heap of white powder in my hair but didn't tell me!! So I was walking around that day with strange white powder in my hair!! Very embarrassing....
That night I decided to use mild organic baby shampoo in my hair to try to combat the oil. It did improve it but it was still a bit oily. Since then I have been continuing with the bicarb and vinegar and my hair has been ok, but still a bit on the oily side. I will keep persisting and see how I go, but I won't be doing any more oil treatments!!
Well Shane has just got home from work, so I am headed to the gym!! I am a bit excited because I really do enjoy going, and always feel good afterwards
In my next post, I'll give you the recipe for the homemade beauty products I used.
